Davis C. Haire is a successful Tunkhannock optometrist and small businessman, caring for thousands of northeastern Pennsylvania families and seniors for over thirty years.
Born in Towanda and raised in Bradford County, Davis has lived in our area his entire life. He attended public schools in Canton, and with the help of his parents and a part-time job, was able to work his way through college in Illinois so he could study to be an eye doctor. After graduating from an accelerated program for top students at the Illinois College of Optometry in 1977, he was able to begin a career that allowed him to return home to northeastern Pennsylvania, stay close with his family and serve his community.
A father of two grown children, Davis has served his community by donating thousands of eye screenings to local students in first, sixth and ninth grades, has helped promote our local businesses and community by serving as President of the Tunkhannock Rotary Club, and donates his time and efforts to various local organizations in northeastern Pennsylvania.
It is the hard-working, rural conservative roots that have helped shape who Davis is today. His deep family ties to northeastern Pennsylvania stretch back to the early 1800s, including his paternal grandfather who dug out by hand the basement of the Susquehanna County Courthouse. His maternal ancestors helped establish the Neath Welsh Congregational Church where the Haire family remain active members to this day. The same family farm that was purchased in 1832 and passed down to his grandparents is where Davis learned to hunt, fish, milk cows, fix fences and perform the daily chores around the farm.
Today, Davis resides in Meshoppen, and is running as a Republican for Congress to bring our conservative values back to Washington – secure borders, English-first, lower taxes and affordable healthcare.
